4-H Quiz Bowl

 

Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026
Location: Sylvan-Lucas Unified High School (504 W 4th St, Sylvan Grove, KS 67481)
Timeline:
    • Team Registration between 8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
    • Welcome and rules review at 9:00 a.m.
    • Competition begins immediately after the review of the rules.
Registration: The event is free, but registration is required by January 5. Register through the online survey. You can also call your local Post Rock District office and staff can complete the online form on your behalf through a phone conversation.

 

Other reminders:
  • No concessions. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks, but please remember to clean up after yourselves.
  • There will be some downtime between competition rounds. Bring a game or a deck of cards to quietly play with friends. Youth participants cannot watch other rounds until they have completed the competition.
  • This is a regional 4-H competition. Post Rock District is the host extension unit, yet we welcome youth from other extension units to participate.
  • Teams are encouraged (not required) to dress up and use a fun, 4-H appropriate team name.

Age Divisions: There are two age divisions based on the age of youth before January 1, 2026. Junior Division is 7-12 years old. Senior Division is 13 years and older. No Cloverbuds.

Teams and Age Division Information: Youth will participate in teams of four. Team members must participate in the division of the oldest member. You do not have to be from the same club or county. When you register, state what team you intend to be on. If you don't have a team yet, just sign up and we will combine youth into teams!

Quiz Bowl Rules: 4-H Quiz Bowl is a semi-competitive event. In order for it to run smoothly and be a fun, educational experience for all please respect the rules of the event.

Quiz Bowl Study Guide: Spend time learning about 4-H by conducting research to complete the questions in the study guide. Once you have completed the questions on-your-own, compare your answers with a 4-H friend. Next, use the questions and answers to study and prepare for 4-H Quiz Bowl. Studying can provide fun and learning. You can study individually, with a caring adult, with your friends, or with your team. You might even enjoy using this study guide to test the knowledge of your 4-H club members at a meeting! (The Answer Guide will not be posted until AFTER the 2026 event.)
